SPITFIRE Mk.3 - a package of assorted spare parts from an accident-damaged vehicle in Prince Albert. Parts include:
- Back axle complete with spring, shocks (new), radius arms & brackets;
- Soft top complete, in fair condition;
- Windscreen (new) and frame;
- "wings" for carrying front suspension & engine, one new;
- Doors, passenger side good, driver's side fair with new window;
- Body, rear half good, front half with salvageable bits;
- Small items, mostly new, inter alia headlight rims, door handles, window winder handles, Mk.3 badges and a (not new) heater assembly;
- Chassis, good in parts but needs creative engineering.
He also has an overdrive gearbox that he wants to swop for a non-overdrive box.

Custom made by Viper Exhausts in JHB, steel tubing, 4 in 2 with flange. Ceramic coated.
A direct replacement for the original cast Iron manifold.
Including a new 2 in 1 collector pipe with flange.

SPITFIRE Mk.3 - 1970.
55,000 miles on the clock. Mechanically excellent condition, with a new stainless steel exhaust, brakes and cooling system overhauled and further extensive mechanical maintenance by Bradleys Classics.
Next on the list was to tackle the body and interior which, although there is little rust, needs some serious TLC. Unfortunately after 3 years of wishful thinking, I have come to realise that due to my circumstances and time constraints, I'm simply not going to get around to it in the foreseeable future...

Triumph Spitfire Mk II 1966: For rebuild or spares.
Various maintenance projects have been implemented through out the years; though the full restoration project has been constantly referred. The bodywork is now looking somewhat tatty but not beyond restoration. Also the undercarriage requires attention at sometime. Mechanically all is in working order. Some new parts have been imported and stored. All of the trim is accounted for. The brakes will need some attention as they ‘grab’ due to being laid-up for so long. All that is required is petrol and a decent battery and this old lady becomes active again. A Triumph Herald was previously cannibalized as a source for spare parts. I have been unable to find the correct boot badge but have an alternative. Also I have made a plan for the indicator warning light. |
