Noggin - 20th February.

One of our poorer turn outs which saw only 10 people in attendance. Gordon Waring, having introduced his TR6 to us, went one step further and introduced us to his wife, Denise. Good to see the wives supporting the club activities. Due to the low numbers it was decided to cancel the quiz contest and concentrate our energies on the stir fry. Just goes to show, quality is always preferable to quantity as enthusiasm and enjoyment was by no means diminished by the poor attendance figure.

Breakfast Run - 23rd February.

Well after the disappointment of the 20th, the numbers present for this outing merely served to confirm that sequels can be bigger and better than the original. We had no less than 18 Triumphs, 1 plastic and a bicycle present for this outing. As with last year we left from the Engen 1 Stop on the N2 and headed along the picturesque Rooi Els coast road to our pre-determined picnic site. One of the joys of convoy riding is that the lead car is able to spot speed traps and I warn the cars behind of the danger . The chagrin on the face of the speed cop at seeing 18 potential customers all braking metres away from his wires was a sight to gladden the heart of any soft target. The glorious Cape weather played its part and we settled in and enjoyed a skottle braai breakfast of almost gargantuan proportions. As always when car club members gather, a lot gets eaten and lots of banter and "other stuff" flows! At the end of it all one heads for home being humorously content with life. Such are the joys of being a Triumph club member.
