Back to Events Month-end Run - Sunday 25 March 2007
Cape Farm House RestaurantReport back by Eileen Cruise
The day dawned bright and sunny for our outing and this boded well for our run. 8 cars arrived at Constantia Village and divested their passengers to meet, greet and enjoy coffee and a catch-up. We were pleasantly surprised to have some new folk along for the ride. Mike Jacobowski's son Jan had the privilege of driving his dad's TR6. We were also joined by Peter du Sautoy's son Guy and Mike Billington in their plastics. We had a lovely scenic drive which avoided Simon's Town as the Navy was having their open day. We traversed Constantia and headed up Ou Kaapse Weg, taking in Kommetjie, Misty Cliffs and Scarborough. We had lovely views out over the ocean which was a beautiful shade of turquoise and shone stunningly under an African sky. Peter and Monica were waiting at the restaurant to help us park up and had secured excellent seating for us under a giant tarpaulin which was very fitting for the excellent weather. It was lovely to see Wilhelm and Joeleen Cool, and Jill and Geoff Davis turned up in the TR3. It was nice to see some faces that can't always make it to the noggins. There was an excellent Farmhouse breakfast on offer at a special price of R35 for the club and some folk even got a coffee refill thrown in to boot! Several people bought items of Regalia. I was glad we'd brought it along on the ride. The new Triumph apparel has become quite popular among the ladies and several ladies' shirts were ordered. All too soon it was midday, - where did the time go? - and we bade farewell to members until the next outing, when hopefully we will all meet up again. The month end runs are by far my favourite activity and it's something I look forward to as each busy month draws to a close. For those of you who haven't joined us for a while, why not consider resurrecting this happy pastime?
