March 12th 2005Four side screen cars, two TR fives, two sixes, a seven, a spitfire and one 2000 saloon meant that the side screens were well and truly in the majority, a fact that would have been most pleasing to some of the club's founding fathers. Those people who believed that TR 4's, with their wind up windows and anything newer were for sissies and who did not even consider Spitfires and saloons to be eligible for club membership. (Thank God those elitist days are but a distant memory to many. Ed)

Due to space limitations, each club was invited to display a limited number of cars and although we had already filled our allotted ten spaces, we were very thrilled at the unexpected arrival of Reg Gevindt in his TR 3A. Older members will remember Reg's name as an active participant in club activities in the late seventies and early eighties.
We came ready to defend last year's "Best Club Stand" title but this was not to be, the trophy being well earned by the Borgward Club who also won the ''Car of the Show" with a very pretty Isabella Coupe. After last year's wet beginning, this year's near perfect weather set the stage and wine tasting, guided tours, refreshment facilities, a few commercial exhibits and some interesting cars on view all combined to make it an enjoyable day out and thanks are due to those members who displayed their cars and also helped set up (and dismantle) the stand.
