Back to Events Triumph Invitation Run
14 November 2004I have run out of superlatives to adequately describe the success of this inaugural event. The response was overwhelming as was the support from all concerned. Hopefully by the time this Newsletter goes to print the accompanying photographs will illustrate what I am unable to do with words.

For the record, we had 91 people driving 25 Triumphs, 8 Austin Healeys, 4 Morgans, 4 Sunbeams, 2 Jaguars, 2 Lotus's (Loti?) and 1 Singer. Plastics? I think there were 3 or 4.

Having met at Constantia and having got the admin out of the way, which included all participants receiving a commemorative "baseball" cap and two complimentary drinks from Gian Mani (aka Mr Soda King-free plug for a nice drink), we proceeded through Constantia via Hout Bay and the Atlantic seaboard en route to the V and A Waterfront.

Two of my major concerns failed to materialise. The run through Camps Bay was hassle free despite the near perfect weather, due in part to us running against the general traffic flow, and parking the cars at the Waterfront was equally hassle free. Sure there was a bit of a delay when it came to the last 7 or 8 cars but nothing to get overly irritated about.

Man oh man, the sight of 46 of England's finest sports cars, made up of a variety of Marque's, filling the quayside parking lot was something to behold. Enjoy the pictures as we look forward to a similar event next year. Chairpersons/ secretaries or editors of other Clubs newsletters please diarise November 13th 2005. Don't 'phone us, we'll 'phone you.
