Report by Gerhard Vorster
What a day, absolutely fantastic weather and a display of 14 of the "finest" Triumphs that you can find anywhere. We nearly had them all with Roger Robeck's TR2, Tim Cruise's newly acquired TR3, (yes no jokes, Tim bought a fine TR3 and this was it's maiden outing since being "relocated from Gauteng" to the Western Cape), Geoff David's TR3A. Theo Brandt's TR3A, Peter Du Sautoy's TR5, Neil Cameron's TR5, Jamie Hart's TR6, Neil Draycott's TR7, chairman's TR7v8, Sean Cameron's 2000, Tim Cruise's GT6, Maxell Coetzee's Spitfire MK3, Thinus Kruger's Spitfire 1500 and last but not least, David Frew's Spitfire MK4.
We really put up a great show, with our display boards, Triumph flags and our club banner and car information sheets, even though I got some information wrong!! My view is that it was the best Classic Car display of them all, with most models and really interesting cars. It is unfortunate that there wasn't a prize for it, but then who else can compete with us? ;-)
I would also like to take this opportunity of thanking all our members above that cleaned and brought their cars to this show, it is really appreciated and helped us in keeping next year's subs low as Nedbank, who sponsored the event will donate an amount to the Multi Motor Club and this will be go towards our subs.
This show is really getting huge with the participation of most classic car clubs, new models by the dealers, as well as an arena with various shows during the day, all sorts of flea market stalls to keep the ladies occupied while the men look at the cars. It even had something for the kids with games, pony rides, food stalls and the whole works.
Very successful day thanks to all involved.
