26 th October – Breakfast at Suikerbossie Hout Bay

Our meeting place at Mouille Point Light House turned out to be a disaster as we were joined by 15 000 competitors on an organised walk, cyclist on an organised fun ride, traffic police, closed roads, poor housekeeping from stall holders and council painting new road lines in the Atlantic suburbs. With the resultant delays our scenic drive was shortened to allow us to arrive at Suikerbossie on time but with 9 members less than the number booked. We were invited to forego the carpark and display our cars on the grass in front of the full restaurant. What a display it was with TR6’s in the majority! matched by 3 red Spitfires. The breakfast was perhaps the best quality we have had this year and with bottomless orange and coffee pots included in the price certainly the best value. It was nice to see Margaret Young in her one owner, 1960 Herald in original condition completing the turnout of 1 x TR7, 3 x TR6, 1 x TR5, 1 x TR4A, 3 x Spitfire, 2 x Herald (No sidescreens! And their 50 th anniversary is coming up).
